Brickbats, bouquets to SLTB hotline

Need to complain?

Complaints can be reported to the SLTB hotline-011-7555555.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) hotline recorded over 4,500 complaints monthly from commuters regarding problems they experience in SLTB buses.

“Most complaints were regarding the careless conduct and misdemeanors of bus drivers and conductors,” an SLTB spokesman said.

“Some commuters also praised the SLTB crew for their good behaviour, responsible acts and punctuality,” he said.

The hotline also received complaints relating to buses not operating on the scheduled time, tickets not being issued and the balance not being returned, the spokesman said.

“The SLTB officials have been instructed to respond quickly to the public complaints. Once the complaint is made the depot manager, Police and the mobile monitoring units are informed,” he said.

”They carry out investigations and disciplinary action will be taken if a conductor or driver is found guilty,” the spokesman said.
