Conjoined twins separated

A special team comprising seven surgeons, paediatricians and nurses
of the Lady Ridgway Children’s Hospital has separated conjoined twins
yesterday after a five and half hours surgery, Lady Ridgway Children’s
Hospital Director Dr Mahanama Rajamanthri said.
The nine months old twin boys were separated and are being treated at
the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
They are recovering well at the hospital, he said.
The Mother, a resident of Akuressa, Matara gave birth to these
children on March 17 last year at the Castle Street Maternity Hospital.
