Special State hospital to treat infertile couples
The Government is making arrangements to set up
a special state hospital to treat infertile persons, a Healthcare
and Nutrition Ministry spokesman said. Arrangement will also be made
to legalize surrogacy, the spokesman said. Around 250,000 infertile
families or 15 percent of the total number of families in Sri Lanka
are infertile, according to a study conducted by Kandy Teaching
Hospital Phsychiatrist Dr Ratnasiri Bandara.
