Police arrest kassippu seller at hospital
Kurunegala police arrested a person selling
packets of kasippu to patients of the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital.
Police recovered 25 packets of kasippu under flower beds of the
hospital premises.

Crime Division directed to obtain AG’s advice

conducting investigations into the alleged assault on SLIIT student
Nipuna Ramanayake to obtain advice from the Attorney General in
connection with their ongoing investigations and submit a
comprehensive report to Court on the next date, October 13.

Five held for double murder
Police arrested yesterday five suspects in
connection with a double murder in Kondavil, Jaffna on July 28. The
jewelleries robbed from the victims were recovered from the
suspects. Weerasingham Sureshkumar (37) and Suwadeepa Sureshkumar
(26) were killed by unidentified men in Aladi road, Kondavil on July
28 night, police spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Mediwake said.
