In keeping with the need to meet the growing demands and new
developments taking place in the capital market, the Colombo Stock
Exchange (CSE) changed the listing rules from April 1 this year.
Therefore, it is important that Directors of all listed entities be
informed of these new rules to ensure that all listing requirements are
met on a continuous basis and good governance and best practices are
advocated, said Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC)
Chairman Udayasiri Kariyawasam.
The Colombo Stock Exchange is currently ranked third in the world and
recorded over Rs. 1 billion turnover from September 16-22 for seven
consecutive days.
The Financial Services Academy, the Training, Education and Research
arm of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Sri Lanka
organized a seminar titled “Key obligations of listed companies under
the new listing rules” in Colombo yesterday to facilitate knowledge
sharing, continuous training and development of the Directors of listed
companies on these emerging trends and developments in the industry. |
