Muthuhettigama re-remanded

UPFA Galle district candidate Nishantha Muthuhettigama was re-remanded by Galle Magistrate Chamara Tennakoon yesterday when he was produced before him from the remand prison by the Galle Police.

The training course for Police personnel in respect of conducting proceedings before courts is of paramount importance to trace the suspects who had committed crimes and evading arrest, said Inspector General of Police Jayantha Wickremaratne at a conference held at the IGP's Conference hall.

Four cyber crime suspects further remanded

Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Nisantha Hapuarachci yesterday remanded till October 6 four suspects who are alleged to have been involved in putting false information on the Internet about the Hikkaduwa Beach Carnival. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) which is conducting investigations into the alleged offence produced the four suspects before Court.
