Sri Lanka to take part in Lawyers World Cup

Sri Lanka Laywers Cricket team will take part in the second Lawyers
Cricket World Cup to be held in Cambridge, London, England from July 24
to August 4, 2009.
Medium left-arm fast bowler and right-hand batsman Binara Gunasekera
will lead the Sri Lanka lawyers team. He is a former captain of the
Nalanda College team. Malika Guansekara is the Vice Captain. Laywers
Cricket World Cup matches will be confined to 35 overs.
Sri Lanka Lawyers Cricket team ended up third in the inaugural
Lawyers Cricket World Cup in Hyderabad, India in 2007.
Sri Lanka Lawyers Cricket team defeated Australia, England and West
Indies, India and Pakistan by narrow margins. Asela de Silva (Sri Lanka)
clinched the Man of the Series award and Sri Lanka also bagged three Man
of the Match Awards in the first-ever Lawyers World Cup.
Sri Lanka Lawyers Cricket team has played 15 domestic matches this
year with highly success.
