Anandians a major presence in Police, STF

The Police Force and Special Task Force (STF)'s contribution to the vanquishing of LTTE terror, by maintaining peace, law and order and engaging in counter terrorist operations has been invaluable. A considerable number of Anandians in the Police and the STF have contributed to the effort and laid down their lives while on duty. While the Police officers have done their utmost to maintain Law and Order under adverse circumstances during the three decade old conflict, the STF has lent valuable impetus in counter terrorist operations in Northern and Eastern theatres.

The capabilities of the STF in handling any form of terrorist insurgency situation with minimum casualties has stood the country in good stead in its battle against terror.

The Police and STF have always provided security to the Populace in a holistic way, covering all ingredients of security, economic, social and psychological well-being.

Over the years they have lent their invaluable expertise in smashing the forces of terror, which plagued the country for nearly three decades by playing their part to the best of its ability with other stakeholders, such as the Army, Navy, Air Force and the CDF.
