Pakistan beat Ireland move to semi-final

Kennington Oval, London, Monday - Pakistan stayed on course for semi-final berth in the ICC World Cup Twenty20 when they beat Ireland by 39 runs in their Super Eight final game here, today. Their victory was made possible by a fine half century and two stumping from Kamran Akmal who was the man of the match and some tight bowling from Umer Gul 2 for 19 who has always been among the wickets and Saeed Ajmal 4 for 19.

Sarwan sends England out of semi finals

 

Ramnaresh Sarwan and Shivnarine Chanderpaul steered the West Indies into the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 at England's expense as they beat the hosts by five wickets on the Duckworth/Lewis method here Monday.

Six teams enter FA Cup quarters

Ratnam SC, Police SC and Saunders SC managed to make their way to the quarter finals of the Holcim FA Cup soccer championship after tic breakers. Old Bens playing with a very young outfit gave a torrid time to home town rivals Ratnam SC before going down in the tie breaker 4-2. The 90 minutes of play ended with a one all draw.
