Batsmen let us down, says Dhoni

Reigning champions India who flew in confident that they were going to win the ICC Twenty20 tournament for a second time were bundled out by England who also kept their chances alive of a semi-final berth.

The Indians had easily the best combination for this style of game. Most of their players have had experience figuring in the IPL Twenty20. The English thank the Indian supporters who had jeered them after a practice session. This inspired Paul Collinwood's to perform and that they did with a vengeance to send the Indians home beating them by three runs.

After the game Collingwood said: I did not have to make ant motivational speech before the game as we had come off the practice ground and got booed.

Not only did the unruly Indian crowd boo the English, they lost did similarly when Sri Lanka were losing wickets against the Irish.

Speaking further the England skipper said that it was a magnificent effort and that they have it in them to go further. According to the skipper they have put in some good efforts and that they would be raring to give the Windies a run.

Collingwood had said that four wins in a row would see them win the World Cup. Now it is down to three. England playing in their own backyard and before their wildly cheering supporters have it in them to, for once win a World Cup. But then they must remember that a game or a trophy is not won till the last ball is delivered.

A devastated Indian skipper Dhoni said that he thought that they had got the English for chaseable score. But the batting let them down. "On their day, they are a tough side to beat. But England can do it," said a sad looking Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
