Over 5,700 vacancies in BOI job bank

There are 5,795 vacancies in BOI zones and non-BOI companies who are registered with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) job bank.

The vacancies are in the Advertising, Apparel, Manufacturing, IT, BPO, Tourism and Jewellery sectors in 23 job categories.

Among the twelve BOI zones in the entire country, the Katunayake and Biyagama zones have a large number of vacancies for the posts of Machine Operator, Executive Director of BOI, Duminda Ariyasinghe said.

He said skilled and unskilled labour will be given equal opportunities to seek jobs.

These job banks already exist in every BOI zone. The BOI job bank website was launched in November 2008 to broaden the opportunity for job seekers in every sector.

There is a demand for female workers in the Apparel sector.

Four thousand two hundred and forty five applicants and 180 employers are registered with the job bank website.

The BOI ensures that only genuine companies are registered under the website. The BOI provides this service as a social responsibility.

Employers and job seekers could log in to the website and get themselves registered free and those who seek jobs could get registered.

Job seekers can either fax or post their CVs. These would be uploaded by the BOI and CVs can be sent in either English or Sinhala.
