Ex-LTTE and Diaspora

We have to eliminate the ex-LTTE and Diaspora quickly before they lie and instigate other problems in Sri Lanka and the world. Their infiltrated agents and supporters are still operating as usual. Arms, drugs, money laundering etc. evading taxes and illegally taking millions from collections throughout the world.

Looks like no one can stop them because they get information from the inside. Using the FBI, Interpol. etc is the best way to eliminate them. The international world should watch their activities thoroughly, and not give them opportunities to move freely as though their operation is legalised. They have lawyers, doctors, engineers, top civil servants, businessmen etc. in their profiles.

National fund to rebuild Sri Lanka

The above is a very interesting article which has very good ideas.

I am happy to contribute to a fund as suggested by Prof. M. Dissanayake. I strongly suggest that the Government use this opportunity to open an account for Nation Building fund and make the details available to every Sri Lankans (local and overseas).

My guess is that even the genuine Tamils including those who were forced to contribute to the LTTE will join.

We are happy and proud of the leaders including the heroic forces for winning this historic battle against LTTE terrorism, which devastated the economy and the social fabric of Sri Lanka, while becoming a threat to the whole world.

We have lost opportunities in the past and lagged behind five decades and paid a high price. We can't afford to miss this opportunity.

Best wishes Sri Lanka.

Karma reversed?

The scientific energy known as Karma is the cause of re-birth. In analysing how and why there is sorrow and how to prevent sorrow the Buddha discovered that sorrow is there because we are born. This Karma energy is initiated by the individuals mind and developed by his action.

My question is just like any other scientific energy which when commenced has to expend itself, are there any ways and means by which the individual can avoid going through the adverse Karmic energy? and is there any way if it cannot be stopped whether it can be diluted or weakened?

Israel's irony?

I was shocked and awed when I read the article where above all Israel is claiming a human rights violation by Sri Lanka. Just tell Israel to look into the dirt in their own eyes before searching for dirt anywhere else.

Israel definitely is the biggest violator of human rights for the past several decades and the UN has ignored it with the rest of the world, of course, with the backing of the West. Tell Israel to stop killing Palestine children immediately and someone please make a resolution to bring Israel to International Criminal Courts immediately.

Royal block

A branch of the Royal Institute is now located at Maharagama facing both Daham Mawatha and Cancer Hospital Road. The establishment of this institute several months ago has been blocking both Daham Mawatha and the Cancer Hospital Road which is very busy, especially the morning session.

The residents are undergoing a great deal of difficulties, due to this situation created by this school, blocking the resident motorists and pedestrians who are compelled to walk on the middle of the road as all school vans and cars are parked on either sides of the road, till noon. In addition to this, the school has blocked the front area just opposite the school premises where even resident pedestrians cannot walk.

This situation further plays havoc by aggravating the traffic jam on Dehiwela-Maharagama Road.

Either the school authorities or the Police should take action.

Vat and NBT payments April 2009

Taxpayers were aware that VAT and NBT for April 2009 had to be paid on or before May 20, 2009. However on May 19, 2009 at 12.30 p.m. it was announced that May 20, 2009 would be a holiday. Therefore taxpayers did not have the facility to settle their dues on the last day.

These payments were made on May 21, 2009, I suggest that no penalty be imposed on the taxpayers for the delay as it had occurred due to no fault of theirs. It may be true that computers have been set to impose penalty after the last date.

However administrative measures should be taken to reverse this penalty when appeal is made by the taxpayers on receiving assessment notices. It is the duty of the Department of Inland Revenue to secure the goodwill of the taxpayers.

I presume President Mahinda Rajapaksa to look into this matter for necessary action.

Fame or shame?

Of what use is Fame,
If thou can't
Keep thy Name?
When, one takes bribe,
And get into strife?
Then, there won't be Fame,
But, only Shame!

Resist temptations
Of the devil.
Kick him Out,
Listen Not
To his tales!

Never let the devil
Try his pranks,
Put him down,
And crush him off!

Don't get caught
To the evil one,
Make him flee
And Never come back!

If thou art of
Weak character plus,
The devil will tempt, triumph,
And deceive thee!

So, be Bold,
Stick to thy guns,
And win the fight
For the right!

Don't give up,
Make up thy mind,
Is it for Fame
Or, for Shame!

Student's tragic end

Reports on the death of the Gammuduwatta boy who was crushed to death with the collapse of the tunnel constructed for the Highway at Narawala in the Galle District on May 26, 2009 referred to the incident as an accidental death.

Yes, so it was, but as it appears to the common eye as the outcome of shirking responsibilities by the so-called qualified people manning the work site, 'accidental death' is too euphemistic a term and should be changed to 'homicide' instead, though this particular boy had not been targetted.

As the talk in the area goes, true or not, those 'big people' at the work place, entrust their responsibilities to the unskilled and indulge in their wild sprees.

The latter, probably too ignorant to foresee the gravity of shoddy work and only anxious to do the work entrusted to them, have it completed irrespective of quality.

Here is only a case of one innocent paying with life for others' sins. Right along the new highway, there are many such tunnels. Once the road is open to traffic and vehicles start playing, can't worse disasters occur if the quality of work at those places is the same?

The recent unfortunate incident should be thoroughly inquired into and those responsible should be firmly dealt with, by the respective authorities.

The parents who have been having high hopes in the only son they can only seek solace in the old saying "those whom the gods love die young."

The faith

Garlands of contrastive red flowers
To the world renowned mighty heroes
Celebrative crowds in every
corner of the streets
Mark of happiness, that overflows
On every single face
Heartiest feelings and pouring blessings
From the nation, to a 'King of Vigour'
And the team of herculeans
Filled with ambitious patriotism
And their enormous enthusiasm
Fought against terrorism
And embraced the golden sword
The sword of victory

Long spell of very many years
The war crime declined
Bow downs of the civilians
Paying gratitude and salutes
For the noble service, an ennoble peace
Be cautious my great sons
Of the roots with hidden thorns
Never to raise up
Thoughts and blessings in abundance
Towards the sacrifices
And to do the rest, the load ahead
We, the faithful citizens
By reckoning of the awful chapters
May remember this golden era
Bound with the truth, trust and faith
Until our last breath
