Orange Electric breaks into Hong Kong market
Orange Electric achieved yet another milestone by gaining entrance to
the Hong Kong market. This week saw the first shipment being loaded from
the company’s warehouse at Pitipana.
Managing Director Kushan Kodituwakku said, “The world market had not
anticipated Sri Lanka to be a world-class electrical switch
manufacturing destination. However, contrary to this perception Orange
Electric has been able to surprise and surpass expected standards in
design, quality and innovation. The maintenance of these stringent
quality standards opened the door to the most recent export market -
Hong Kong.

Generally recognized as a discerning market with high consumer
expectations in quality, gaining entrance to the Hong Kong market is
indeed a feather in our cap for the brand competing in a non traditional
sector of electrical engineering product category.
In a day and age when Chinese electrical goods dominate the world
market we have been able to take our electrical products to the gateway
of China - Hong Kong. We are happy to achieve this for our country,” he
said.
The company’s decision four years ago to strike on its own, building
a local brand that would bring pride to the country has paid off by the
brand’s ability to etch itself on the global landscape. The many awards
won in the recent past such as Super brand, Soora Sinha, Presidential
export and the National Quality awards bear witness to this remarkable
accolade.
From the outset the brand’s strategy was to stand out in the
electrical- accessory market by offering world-class products
manufactured in Sri Lanka. This necessitated high production values and
quality control mechanisms that would in turn, inspire faith in the
brand.
Today over 90 million switches and 25 million sockets manufactured by
the company are used in homes and commercial buildings throughout Sri
Lanka and across four regions namely - South East Asia, Middle East,
Europe and Australia spanning 15 countries and expanding. |
