Karate masters Gibo and Yagi arrive today

A master of Okinawan Traditional Kobudo, Hanshi Gibo, 9th dan red
belt in Shorin ryu Shorinkan Karate from Japan will arrive in Sri Lanka
tonight (May 01) along with fellow Japanese master Kyoshi Morihiro Yagi,
7th dan Shorin-ryu Shorinkan and 5th dan Matsumura.
It will be the duo's first visit to Sri Lanka on an invitation by
H.Gamini Soysa, founder of Okinawa Karate Shorin-ryu Shorinkan South
Asia (FOKSSA) - Sri Lanka headquarters (HOMBU).
Soysa said that Gibo and Yagi are very much looking forward to
sharing their knowledge with local karatekas. Accordingly, sensei Soysa
has organised a series of seminars and camps at Dehiwala, Boralesgamuwa,
Hombu dojo, Galle, Aluthgama, Passara and Universities of Moratuwa and
Battaramulla. Masters Gibo and Yagi will team up with Soysa, D. Robert
from Chennai, India, Suresh Kenichira, Bangalore, India and sensei
Douglas Peiris master in Wado ryu karate in performing advanced forms
(ka-ta) and bunkai (hidden techniques) and Kobudo weapons on May 6
Wednesday from 7.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. free for the public. AW
