‘No question of ceasefire’

No one should act to strengthen terrorism - President:

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said yesterday that although there are many requests to go for a Ceasefire there was no time and need for it at this stage and the Government’s aim was to liberate the remaining civilians in the No Fire Zone within the next five or six days.

Northern resettlement begins

Senior Presidential Advisor Basil Rajapaksa MP yesterday said the Government will not give into conditions from the international organizations assisting Sri Lanka. He was speaking at a ceremony to initiate the resettlement of civilians displaced by terrorist atrocities in the Northern Province at Savariarpuram in the Musali DS Division, Mannar.
