Mirigama-Karagahatenna model village opened

Mirigama-Karagahatenna, a village in the Gampaha district developed
at a cost of Rs. 6 million as a model village under the Gama Neguma
development drive was opened recently by Nation Building Minister S.M.
Chandrasena recently.
The village consists of infrastructure facilities including pipe
borne drinking water facilities , electricity and concreted by- roads
constructed under the Gama Neguma master development drive.
Ten houses have also been built under the Dhiriya Piyasa constructed
with the 20 percent of labour participation for low incomers of the
area, a house for a family of a war hero were included for the project.
Reconstruction of the Kalugama Buddhist Vidyalaya, and the
construction of a community hall and committee hall were included in the
project.
Water-sealed toilet facilities for more than 34 families have also
been provided.
Projects targeted for livelihood development and home gardening
projects launched by the Sri Lanka Samurdhi Development Authority are in
operation at the moment.
The projects commenced with the assistance of line ministries and
Governmental organizations.
Over 122 families will be benefited by the project.
