Managing cross-border finance under increasing uncertainty

The Centre for Banking Studies of the Central Bank (CBS) of Sri Lanka is planning to organize a seminar on "Managing Cross-Border Finance under Increasing Uncertainty" from May 27-30, 2009 at CBS.

The effect of the ongoing financial and economic crisis on developing countries has highlighted once again the importance of managing inflows and outflows of foreign capital. The seminar would take as its point of departure the historical evolution of financial crisis: its causes, consequences and characteristics. It would elaborate the ways in which the financial sector has been transformed since then by policy in both the developed and developing countries.

The seminar is targeted at the Professionals of the Central Banks and other Financial Institutions, University academics, research professionals, policy makers and regulators.

Prof. C.P. Chandrasekhar and Prof. Jayati Ghosh from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi will be the resource persons for the seminar.
