Over 500 Tigers killed in 20 days

More than 501 Tigers have been killed in battle in the last 20 days, the Army said. Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara, the military spokesman said that an unknown number of LTTE cadres and 223 soldiers have also been injured in the clashes from March 5 to March 24. Fifty soldiers died during this period.

Five LTTEers arrested with explosives at Modera

Police arrested five LTTE suspects with 4 kg of C4 explosives from a house in Aluth Mawatha, Modera in a pre-dawn search operation, Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said.

Navy foils LTTE boat movement

A cluster of LTTE boats launched form Nayaru area in Trincomalee proceeding towards Pulmudai was intercepted and attacked by Naval craft early yesterday morning, the Navy said.
