Modern sports complex for Nuwara Eliya
The Nuwara Eliya Race Course and the adjoining
Municipal Sports Complex was taken over by the Sports and Public
Recreation Ministry recently. This was done with the intention of
developing the complex with modern equipment to and also to have a
training centre for all sportsmen and women of the area. The vested
area consist of 88 acres.

Markko - Lanka's new rugby coach
New Zealander Reiwi Markko has been appointed as
Sri Lanka's new rugby sevens coach while compatriot Keith Robers, a
former New Zealand sevens player and trainer has been entrusted with
the training of the national team. The duo will arrive in Sri Lanka
in the last week of February and their first task will be to prepare
the Sri Lanka team for the Hong Kong International Rugby Sevens
which will be worked off from March 28 to 30, 2008.
