Arms haul unearthed in Mudagala

The Security Forces conducting search operations in the East
unearthed a haul of arms and explosives in Mudagala, Thoppigala
yesterday afternoon, Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara
said.
A cache of arms and explosives were uncovered by the Security Forces
during continuing search operations following the liberation of the
East. "Troops recovered haul of arms and explosives left behind by
fleeing LTTE cadres, including a 120 mm mortar, and large stock of
claymore mines and AP mines in Thoppigala," Brigadier Nanayakkara said.
The Security Forces recovered a 120mm mortar, a 12.7mm gun, a 60mm
mortar, a 81mm mortar, two MPNG tripod, 450 Anti Personnel Mines, 11 TNT
explosive slabs each weighing 15kg, 30 claymore mines each weighing 2kg,
3.5kg C4 explosives and 500 electric detonators. |
