Eight suspects indicted

The eight suspects in the attempted trade of an infant of Moragolla,
Aluthgama to a Dutch couple in July last year were indicted before the
Colombo High Court and the hearing was fixed for January 24 by High
Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara.
Kaluperuma Ratnasiri de Silva and Gamini Anura de Silva were indicted
for urging Susan Hulsh Bosh of the Netherlands to give them Rs. 650,000
with the promise to give her an infant to adopt intern.
Samantha Indrajith Wijesinghe, S. Ranjith Anura, Priyankara
Lokusooriya, W. Turin Perera, S. Divakara Mohotti and S. P. Shanika
Senadira (mother of the infant) were charged in the same indictment for
aiding and abetting the previous suspects to do so.
All the suspects were charged for conspiring to sell the infant to
Bosh between January 01 to July 31.
W. Turin Perera was charged for making forged birth certificate for
the infant with facts to state Bosh delivered the child at the Nagoda
Hospital and S. Divakara Mohotti was charged for aiding and abetting
Perera to do so.
