NMK Group awarded ISO 22000 and HACCAP accreditation

Edible Oil imports, exports and trading company and NMK Group's two
main manufacturing companies were recently awarded with ISO22000 and
HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Controlling Point) by the Sri Lanka
Standards Institution (SLSI).
These are the first two companies to be awarded prestigious ISO and
HACCP certification in Edible Oil Industry in Sri Lanka. The
Manufacturer of hydrogenated Palm Oil based products Naratha
Agro-Industries (Pvt) Limited and the Manufacturer of Non-hydrogenated
Palm Oil based products Cherubium (Pvt) Ltd are the two Board of
Investment (BOI) approved companies, members of the NMK Group who were
awarded the ISO22000 Certificates in a ceremony held at Sri Lanka
Standards Institution on 4th December 2007.
Naratha Agro-Industries (Pvt) Ltd and Cherubium (Pvt) Ltd are leading
exporters of vanaspathi, margarine, bakery shortening, cooking oil and
specialty fats to the global markets and are planning to launch the same
products to local markets shortly.
The Chairman of SLSI mentioned that Naratha Agro-Industries and
Cherubuim are the first two companies in Sri Lanka Edible Oil Industry
to achieve the ISO22000 and HACCP certifications and the recognition
achieved will certainly support them to market their products in global
and local markets successfully.
