Lankan spikers down Maldivians 3-0
Sri Lankan volleyballers who are preparing to
compete at the forthcoming Central Asia Volleyball Championship came
up with a fine performance yesterday to beat the visiting Maldivian
spikers three sets to nil. Maldivians too are on their way to
Pakistan for the same tourney.

London based Lankans to help Football
London based Sri Lankans are all out to help Sri
Lanka Football. The President Hurley Silveira, Secretary Hafiz
Marikar and Treasurer Lakshman Hewapanna, who were at the 57th FIFA
Congress, on there way back visited UK on an invitation and met
several Sri Lankans, including the High Commissioner in London.

Frank and Karel sail to win Lipton’s Cup
There were as much as 18 boats each with helm
and crew numbering 36 sailors, who vyied for championship honours in
the Liptons Cup Sailing Regatta held on Sunday at the Ceylon Motor
yacht Club, Bolgoda.
