London based Lankans to help Football

FOOTBALL: London based Sri Lankans are all out to help Sri Lanka Football.

The President Hurley Silveira, Secretary Hafiz Marikar and Treasurer Lakshman Hewapanna, who were at the 57th FIFA Congress, on there way back visited UK on an invitation and met several Sri Lankans, including the High Commissioner in London.

They met several Sri Lankans and had discussions on how to promote the game here. They had said that they will be happy to help the game of football which is the number one sport in England and World.

They also had the opportunity of meeting the Sri Lankan High Commissioner K. Senavirathne and people like Vijitha Alles the Editor of the UIK Lanka Times, Faleel Marikar of Ballyis Hotel.

The UK based Lankans said that every year, the Tamil and Sinhala Sri Lankans, organise a Seven a side Football Tournament, where they collect a large some of money. Now some of the Sri Lankans have decided to organize a tournament in association with the Sri Lankan Football Federation.
