LTTE ready to resume talks

The LTTE said yesterday that they were ready to resume peace talks. "The Liberation Tigers are fully prepared to resume the negotiations on the same principles and atmosphere as it did with the previous government in Colombo," the Tamilnet website quoted the Head of the LTTE Political Wing, S.P. Thamilselvam as telling journalists in Kilinochchi.

Govt. will protect Buddhism and Buddha Sasana - Prime Minister

Prime Minister, Mahinda Rajapakse, said that it was written down in the Sri Lanka Constitution that the protection and preservation of Buddhism and Buddha Sasana was the duty of any government that assumed office.
