UNP leaders shamelessly touring North - Keheliya

The UNP leadership which defamed war heroes during the humanitarian operation by belittling the victories gained describing Thoppigala as a ‘near jungle’ is now visiting the North and leveling unfounded allegations against the Security Forces.

Such irresponsible actions have been a feature of the UNP throughout its history Mass Media and Information Minister and Cabinet Spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said.

The Minister said the UNP and Opposition Leader who pointed a finger of accusation against the Army regarding the attack on the Udayan Newspaper has never raised a voice against terrorists at anytime.

Minister Rambukwella said Opposition UNP Leaders who ridiculed the victories gained by the armed forces were now shamelessly touring the North.

They should realize that they were able to visit the area without fear or suspicion due to the victories gained by the forces over the terrorists.

It was regrettable to note that the UNP still failed to understand reality even on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the war victory.
