Sixteen teams for club rugby sevens
Sixteen teams will take part in the inter club
rugby sevens which will be worked off at Havelock Sports Club
Grounds on May 4 and 5 at Havelock Park. The tournament which has
been revived after a lapse of two years will be played in a carnival
atmosphere should attract a mammoth crowd. The sixteen teams taking
part are several times champions Kandy SC(one), Army(three),
Navy(three), Air Force(two), CR and FC(two), CH and FC(two),
Police(one), Havelocks SC(one) and Up Country Lions(one).

Central Province Ladies entered the finals of
the Twenty20 women’s cricket championship organized by the Sri Lanka
cricket when they beat Southern Province by five wickets in the
semi-finals played at NCC grounds, yesterday.

HM Cricket Academy in 17 run win
HM Cricket Academy, Moratuwa beat Homagama
cricket school by 17 runs in their under 13 cricket match worked off
at Prince of Wales College grounds recently. Taking the first lease
H M Cricket Academy made 164 for 8 with S Tennakoon scoring 46 runs
while Rohan Perera and P Asalanka making 38 and 35 runs
respectively. P Sanesh had a good spell of 5 for 45 for Homagama
cricket school.
