Incentive allowance for CAA lying squad officers

The government has decided to grant an incentive allowance to flying squad officers of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) as a way of encouragement to carry out their duties in a more efficiency manner. “The Treasury has given its approval to the CAA proposal under the instructions of Co-operatives and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando,’ a CAA Spokesman told the Daily News. “This incentive allowance scheme would persuade CAA flying squad officials to conduct more raids and nab errant traders who exploit consumers.

He said CAA flying squad officials contribute immensely in maintaining and promoting financial stability in the market while protecting consumer rights.

“We need to admire them and appreciate their services by providing more incentive allowances,” he said.
