Trinity skipper Shehan sets new record

Trinity College swimming captain Shehan de Silva celebrated his
appointment in style by smashing a national record in his first outing
for the season at the National Short Course Swimming Championship
organized by the national body Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU)
and worked off at the Hillwood Swimming Pool, Kandy this week.
This was an open meet in which top schools and clubs including
police, Navy and Air Force participated.
Swimming in the 200 metres Butterfly stroke event Shehan de Silva
timed 2 minutes 18 seconds 5 micro seconds to smash the existing record
of 2 minutes 18 seconds 70 micro seconds held by Kanishka Hulangamuwa of
Trinity College established in 2009.
Shehan de Silva is the toast of the Trinitians it was only in
December last year that he was in rip roaring form when he broke five
existing records at the annual swimming championship organized by the
Central Province Aquatic Sports Association (CEPASA).
Shehan de Silva has further embellished his outstanding swimming
career by his inclusion in the SAF Swimming Training Pool.
