Kotmale Chox inter schools under 19 T20 cricket:

Sebs emerge champs

St.Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa emerged champions in the Kotmale Chox inter-schools under 19 Twenty20 cricket tournament as they beat Wesley College, Colombo by three wickets and 42 runs in the final match played at Bloomfield ground Colombo .

Sent into bat first St.Sebastians College scored 122 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Anuk Fernando (27) and Samith Silva(18) were the main contributors for Sebastianites. Jonathan Caderamanpulle took two wickets for 21 while Migara Wickramasinghe captured 2 for 12.

The Wesleyites, who created a major upset by overcoming the formidable St.Peter’s College by four wickets in the Tuesday’s semi-finasl couldn’t live up to the expectations and they were skittled out for a paltry 80 runs in 15.4 overs.

Jonathan Caderamanpulle was the only consolation for Wesley College with 39 runs. Pramesh Fernando(3 for 8), Sangeeth Cooray(3 for 7) and Kusal Lakthilina (2 for 20) did well for Sebastianite bowling.

Sangeeth Cooray of St.Sebastian’s College was adjudged as the man of match and man of the series.

St.Sebastians : 122 for 7 in 20 overs(Anuk Fernando 27, Samith Silva 18, Jonathan Caderamanpulle 2 for 21, Migara Wickramasinghe 2 for 12)

Wesley : 80 in 15.4 overs(Jonathan Caderamanpulle 39, Pramesh Fernando 3 for 8, Sangeeth Cooray 3 for 7, Kusal Lakthilina 2 for 20)

Prince of Wales Vs St.Peter’s

Prince of Wales College Moratuwa secured third place in the Kotmale Chox inter-schools under 19 Twenty20 tournament when they beat St.Peter’s College Colombo by 14 runs in their T20 match to determine third place played at Bloomfield A.C.Colombo yesterday.

Prince of Wales: 55/6 in 5 overs (Sachith Pushpakumara 20 n.o.,Suchira Fernando 19, Julian De Zylva 1/04)

St. Peter’s: 41/5 in 5 overs (Kavinda De Thisera 13, Hasitha Lanka 2/6, Shenal Chethaka 2/7)
