A young man who stabbed a mother and her teenaged daughter with a knife, was caught by the residents of Digampathaha. He was handed over to Sigiriya Police.

Police investigations revealed the suspect was hiding in the victims' house and committed the crime when they were asleep in the night.

The victims, G.Bandaramenike, 52, and her daughter Salani Prasadani Amarasingha, 17, were rushed to Dambulla base hospital under critical conditions.
