Bogus medical student produced in courts

A woman who was posing as a medical student was taken into custody by the Borella Police. The imposer was produced before the Colombo Magistrates Court yesterday and was enlarged on a Rs.100,000 surety bail.

Noting that there are three unknown persons which included two males and a female in the TV room of the Medical Faculty complainant, Roshan Madusanka had questioned the suspect who had produced an identity card giving her name as Renuka Peiris, a fourth year undergraduate of the Medical Faculty.

Subjected to further questioning she had attempted to walk out of the door but had been prevented. The two males had taken to their heels.

Later the suspect was identified as Chandimalee Ramgahayaya, a resident of Middeniya. IP Punsiri prosecuted.
