Gift parcels distribution
Gift parcels for workers in Condominium Management Authority will be
held today under the patronage of Construction, Engineering Services,
Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa at Condominium
Management Authority, 1st floor, National Housing Development Building
Colombo 01 at 2.00 p.m.
The gift parcels contain local products and each is worth Rs. 3,000.
New Year festivals
The Maha Bak Maha Ulela organised by the Chilaw-Weerapadiyana
Sippikalana youths will be held on April 19 at Sippikalana school
grounds.
Chilaw-West Mungandaluwa Sri Prabodarama Buddhist Monastery will hold
the oil anointing ceremony on April 15 at 6.41 am in the presence of Ven
Wattegedara Jinarathana Thera.
Japanese government scholarship 2014
The Japanese government will award scholarships to Sri Lankan
students under the Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture,
Sports, Science and Technology:MEXT) scholarship scheme 2014, in the
categories of Postgraduate Research, Undergraduate and College of
Technology.
The closing date for applications to the Higher Education Ministry is
on May 3.
Selection of candidates will be through an examination conducted
jointly by the Japanese Embassy and the Higher Education Ministry.
Prospective candidates are requested to forward their applications to
the Higher Education Ministry, No. 18, Ward Place, Colombo 07, according
to the specimen application format published by the Ministry.
Application forms downloaded directly from the website of the
Japanese government will not be accepted for the preliminary processing.
Undergraduate and College of Technology applicants can apply for One
scheme Only (Either Undergraduate or College of Technology).
