Minister wants to open geological museum soon

Environment and Renewable Energy Minister Susil Premajayantha requested the authorities to open the tsunami and earthquake monitoring centre and geological museum. The tsunami monitoring centre and geological museum was established by the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau of the Environment and Renewable Energy Ministry at the Bureau premises at Number 569, Epitamulla Road, Pitakotte, Kotte.

The tsunami and earthquake monitoring centre is equipped with technology to monitor earthquakes take place at any place in the world.

Three earthquake monitoring centres have been set up in Kandy, Hakmana and Pallekele.
