Joes beat Bens in T20

Madura Madusanka hit a half century (60) for St. Benedict's College
but they were four-runs short of target in their pre-quarter final match
of the Kotmale Chox inter-schools T20 cricket tournament worked off at
Darley Road yesterday.
St.Benedict's College won the toss and put St.Joseph's College to bat
first. Josephians were 135 for 9 in 20 overs. Aravindh Fernando (24),
Pathum Madusanka (43) and Fabian Fernando (16 not out) were the main
contributors. Sameera Sandamal took three for 20. In reply, the
Benedictines were 131 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
Madura Madusanka cracked a fine half century inclusive of seven hits to
the ropes and two over it in 42 deliveries. Fabian Fernando (2 for 22),
Sachin Hewawasam (2 for 17) and Priyamal Perera (3 for 21) impressed
with bowling.
