Artistes asked to send applications for Kalabhooshana awards

Application are invited from eligible artistes over 60 years of age for presentation of Kalabhooshana awards in appreciation of their role in fostering development of indeginous arts. This is an annual event organised by the Culture and the Arts Ministry annually.

The artistes are to be selected at Divisional Secretarial level representing all fields of arts such as writers, traditional artistes, sculptors, craftsmen and musicians and those engaged in lacquer work, weaving, puppetry, drama, dancing, drumming and folk arts etc.

Artistes whose age is over 60 years as at December 15 are eligible to apply and the relevant application forms could now be obtained from the District and Divisional Secretariats .

The duly filled applications together with the copies of certificates certified by the District Secretary or Divisional Secretary should be forwarded with the recommendation of the District Secretary or the Divisional Secretary.

These could be handed over to the Cultural Officer of the relevant area.
