Australian High Commission sources said Australia has been spending
USD 20 million (Rs 2.6 billion) for over five years to help remove
landmines in the North and East and support the efforts of the
government to make Sri Lanka mine-free by 2020.
"Australia is committed to supporting the work of the government to
rid the country of unexploded landmines," Australian High Commissioner
Robyn Mudie said.
