Second outright win for Trinity

Trinity College coasted to their second outright win for the season
when they defeated Sri Sumangala College, Panadura by an innings and 134
runs in their schools under 19 cricket tournament match played at the
Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy yesterday.
This second outright win by the Trinitians should in a way silence
the critics who have been under rating this Trinity side.
In securing this win the Trinitians had the support of the weather
gods who given a little fright on Trinitians with a very thin drizzle in
the stadium when the Sumangalaians were struggling at 76 for 6.
But by strange circumstance it was pouring cats and dogs at
Katugastota which is just about two kilometers away as the crow flies.
It rained for two hours.
Trinitians made 309 for 4 wickets declared. Sri Sumangala College
replied with 95 all out.
Following on 214 runs behind Sri Sumganla College fared disastrously
to be dismissed for 80 shortly after lunch.
Left-arm spinner Lakshan Jayasinghe had the fine figures of 5 for 25
to return the fine match figures of 9 for 38 and has now captured 65
wickets for the season.
