Necklace snatched

Two men snatched a gold necklace of an elderly man at Bimmalamulla, Dambana, Mahiyanganaya.

The victim, Galegedara Wijeratna, 58, said he was at home after dinner when he heard someone saying 'we are policemen. Could you open the door for a while?' He opened the door, there were two men. They asked for a box of matches.

The victim gave them the box of matches and one snatched his necklace, grabbed the torch in his hand and fled with the other.
