Over 600 families receive coconut saplings

The Coconut Development Board (CDB) distributed 6,020 free coconut saplings among 602 families of the Mahawali C Zone village Deldeniyaya, between Giraandurukotte and Nava Medagama on the Dehiaththakandiya-Mahiyanganaya road.

CDB officers distributed coconut saplings among residents in Monaragala in Theldeniyaaya on January 31. This was carried out by the Kapruka Pubudu Samithiya of Theldeniyaaya under the guidance of the CDB.

The local voluntary community organisation will co-ordinate the field work at Theldeniyaaya, said Gamini Rajapaksha, a national integration affairs officer at the Dehiaththakandiya Divisional Secretariat.
