Man arrested for stealing copper cables
A man who allegedly cut off 75 metre lengths of
copper cables weighing 35 kilograms from a transmission tower in
Ingiriya was arrested by Ingiriya Police in Rambukkanagama on
Sunday.

Heroin trafficker playing ball caught
One of the two suspects fleeing after throwing
two parcels containing small packets of heroin in to the Bogambara
Priosn compound were apprehended by Kandy Police Frauds Unit after a
chase. Police said the arrested suspect had 15 packets of the drug
in his possession and they had to make a desperate bid to prevent
him from swallowing the packets.
