Man arrested for stealing copper cables

A man who allegedly cut off 75 metre lengths of copper cables
weighing 35 kilograms from a transmission tower in Ingiriya was arrested
by Ingiriya Police in Rambukkanagama on Sunday.
The suspect aged 28 is a resident of Kiriella.
Police also seized a stock of equipment used to cut the copper
cables. Investigations revealed that the suspect was linked to a gold
chain robbery in Ratnapura.
Ingiriya Police are investigating.
