POW beat newcomers Antonians

St. Anthony’s School Kadalana, Moratuwa newcomers to inter-schools competitive cricket, played their inaugural cricket match against Prince of Wales College at Moratuwa and lost by 94 runs in their inter-school under 13 division three tournament cricket match.

Sri Lanka spin wizard Ajantha Mendis had his primary education at St. Anthony’s prior to shifting to Moratu Vidyalaya.

Batting first Anthonians scored 106 runs with skipper Ashen Sameera making the top score of 64 runs and Mohamed Farhat took 6 for 22.

In reply Cambrians were 200 for 6 at the close with Raveesha Peiris making 52 runs.
