Detention orders on suspects

The four suspects taken into custody in connection with the quadruple murder at Walpitawatte, Galle on Sunday were produced before the Baddegama magistrate yesterday evening by the Poddala Police.

On an application by the Police, the magistrate issued detention orders in respect of the suspects for further interrogation. Among the suspects in custody are a son and a nephew of a businessman killed in Galle last month.

The Police believe rivalry between two gangs in Galle as the cause for the killing spree.
