Man with stock of bat flesh arrested by police

The Balagolla Police arrested a man who had a stock of bat flesh in his possession. He was charged before the Kandy Magistrates court with violating the Fauna Protecting Law of the country.

Police say that the man, Singaravel Loganathan from Pallekele, could be a bat flesh trafficker.

The bat is a mouse-like nocturnal mammal of the Chiroptera order and is capable of flight by means of its membranous wings extending from its forelimbs.
