Lankan office boy accused of stealing jewellery in Dubai
A Sri Lankan office boy and a Pakisani driver allegedly broke into
villas and stole jewellery worth Dh600,000 from one of the villas and
Dh3,500 from another, the Dubai Criminal Court heard. The Pakistani
driver aged 35 and the Sri Lankan aged 26 are also accused of stealing a
laptop computer besides the jewellery.
Second Lieutenant Mohammed Darwish testified that the Sri Lankan
confessed to him that he broke into villas with the Pakistani and they
divided the stolen things after each operation. Police confiscated some
of the stolen items from their accommodation.
The court adjourned the case for verdict until November 26.
