Man electrocuted while attempting to remove cadjan

A man died of electrocution in Kadikadadankulam, Murunkan on Thursday when he attempted to remove a cadjan on an electricity wire opposite his house, with a stick which had a knife attached to one end.

Murunkan Police are investigating.

Body found in Ma Oya

Kotadeniyawa Police found the body of a man floating in Ma Oya, Kotadeniyawa on Monday.

The Police conducted a search operation after a complaint was lodged by the deceased's son at Kotadeniyawa Police on Sunday stating that his father had been missing since October 28 and found the body.

The victim was identified as N M G Maheepala, 27, of Gonawila, a labourer by profession.

Body found in canal

Maligawatte Police found the body of a man in a canal in Maligawatte on Thursday following a complaint by his family members that the man was missing.

The victim was identified as M M Mohommad Raheem.

Meanwhile, Colombo Fort Police found the body of an unidentified man on the pavement on York Street on Thursday.

The body was sent to the Colombo National Hospital.

The man appears to be between 55 and 60 years and 5'2" in height. He had long hair and a moustache and was attired in a red T shirt and a sarong.

Menawhile, the body of a motorcyclist was found in a drainage near a culvert on the Peradeniya- Gampola road by Daulagala Police on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as P C Premadasa, 29, of Gelioya.

Investigations revealed the man died after he fell into the drain while travelling on his motorcycle the previous night.

The post-mortem revealed the man had died after swallowing water mixed with sand.
