Considering Sri Lanka’s total population, it has become a country
with the greatest number of public servants, Environment Minister Anura
Priyadarshana Yapa said. The minister was addressing a ceremony to
present appointment letters to 94 graduates as Development Officers
under the Economic Development Ministry in the Pannala Divisional
Secretariat.
He said a large number of villagers depend on public servants and
they should do their duties towards them. He observed the first
impression is very important
as it can be a confidence booster. He requested them to become
ambassadors of the government and for the ministries to facilitate
proper communication and service to people at village level.
He advised public servants to deal with everybody with respect,
irrespective of political alignments.
He also requested public servants have a social responsibility by
working in unity with others, while serving society. |
