ComBank's DotCom reaches out to youth

Commercial Bank, with its unique 'Youth Savings Account' concept, has announced the appointment of global award-winning singing sensations Iraj Weerarathne and Infaaz Noorudeen who have inspired and captured the hearts of many youth, as Brand Icons for the re-launch of its 'DotCom Youth Savings Account.'

Exclusively for those between 10 to 18 years of age, this new account offers an interest rate of 6%, the best rate in the youth savings accounts category, the Bank said. "We all know that young people like to start early with their plans, hopes and aspirations. Our savings account is unique because it not only lays the foundation for a secure future, but also provides opportunities for young people to manage their finances," said Hasrath Munasinghe, DGM Marketing at Commercial Bank.

Account holders will receive personalized ATM cards at a discounted fee, which will give them 24-hour access to any Commercial Bank ATM island-wide.

Additionally, account holders will be entitled to low interest personal loans, and free access to online Banking facilities. Once a DotCom account holder reaches 18 years of age, he or she may apply for a Commercial Bank international credit card or a Combank Shopping Debit Card.Quarterly E-statements will be provided to all DotCom account holders on request. DotCom Youth Savings Accounts can be opened at any of Commercial Bank's branches or service points with an initial deposit of Rs.1, 000.
