Beware of conspiracies, warns Wimal
Ishara MUDUGAMUWA
Though we have defeated terrorism, we must be aware of certain forces
who are trying to resuscitate it. It is therefore the bounden duty of
all Sri Lankans to be united to defeat conspiracies hatched by forces
inimical to our Motherland and those with vested interests, said
Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities
Minister Wimal Weerawansa.
Participating at the Housing Loans awarding ceremony at Ratnapura on
Tuesday, Minister Weerawansa said Karunanidhi is trying to destroy the
lives of Tamil youth by putting guns into their hands. They are trying
to create problems in Sri Lanka by trying to host illegal Eelam
Conference recently.
"Karunanidhi wants to divide Sri Lanka in to two parts. In the future
too, we will have to face many other international forces. We should be
ready to face all these forces successfully." the minister said. Housing
loans were provided for 360 government workers on the occasion. The
government spent Rs.125 million for this purpose.
The minister said under the Jana Sevana Rajya Sewaka Upahara
programme, the ministry provides housing loans at an interest rate of 10
percent. Other banks provide housing loans at an interest rate of 18
percent with many other conditions. So this is a great opportunity for
government servants to make their dreams of building a house come true.
Public Administration Minister W.D.J. Seneviratne, National Housing
Development Authority Deputy Chairman A.W. Dayananda, General Manager
Mahinda Mudalige were among those who participated.
